What the difference between IMAP and POP3 email protocols
IMAP and POP3 are protocols for receiving e-mail messages, which we find in all e-mail programs, for example, Microsoft Outlook for reading and following e-mail, so the user should know the difference between these two protocols in a nutshell.
IMAP is an abbreviation for Internet Mail Access Protocol, which sends mail from a mail server to an email program, keeping the mail on the server so that you can access mail through any other program on any other device, or access mail through Webmail.
POP3 is an abbreviation of Post Office Protocol, and its job is to transfer mail from the mail server “server” to your mail program, but it deletes the message from the server after downloading it to the program, so that you can only see the message from the mail program that downloaded it.
